Why Orlando is one of America’s Top Places to Live & Visit

Orlando is a top tourist destination. Orlando is home to some of the world’s greatest theme park and entertainment destinations. It is also known for its shopping and dining options. Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Seaworld are just a few of Orlando’s many attractions. Orlando had more than 62 million visitors in 2014 alone.

Visit Orlando, the destination’s official tourism association, today announced that more than 62 million people visited Orlando in 2014. The announcement marks a new all-time record for the U.S. travel industry, solidifying Orlando’s position as the most visited destination in the nation. Visitation grew five percent from 2013 as visitors from around the world came to experience all that is new across the ever-expanding destination.

“Orlando Press & Media | Visit Orlando News & Information.” Visit Orlando News & Information. Visit Orlando, 09 Apr. 2015. Web.

Many of these tourists are opting to stay in Orlando area vacation homes instead of hotels. A smaller percentage of these tourists actually own a home in Orlando, and rent it out for the rest of the year, when they are not in town for their vacation.

Many homes in Kissimmee don’t even have mailboxes. That’s because no one actually lives in them year-round. In fact, multi-room mansions keep springing up in the Osceola County destination for the sole purpose of being a rental site.

Dineen, Caitlin. “Proximity to Disney Helps Kissimmee Become ‘vacation-home Capital'” OrlandoSentinel.com. Orlando Sentinel, 19 July 2015. Web. 08 Dec. 2015.

Orlando is not only a top tourist destination but also one of the top cities where Americans want to live. According to Pew Research Center, Orlando is ranked 4th for the top cities in the U.S. where Americans want to live. Orlando is ranked 4th not only for its destinations but also for its subtropical climate. In Orlando boating, barbecues, sports events, and other outdoor activities can be enjoyed nearly all-year round.

According to Forbes, Orlando is ranked 4th on top places to invest in a home. Florida is the state with the second-greatest number of cities on the Forbes’ Best Buy list. Dr. Phillips, a suburb of Orlando, is also on the list. Here is a list of a few of the most desirable communities in Dr. Phillips with homes available:

Bay Hill
Cypress Point
 Emerson Pointe
Turtle Creek
Vizcaya
